Grandpa and Grandma

Grandpa and Grandma came to town Thursday. I was at work when they got here. They were still up when I got home. It was nice to have them here. Last night when I was thinking about blogging about their trip I realized I didn't get pics of Maggie with them. I'll have to make sure next time to get more of them with her.
Friday we spent most of the time at home. DeLoss and Barbara went to the temple Friday night then we went out to eat at Lubbock Breakfast house. The food there is so good!

Saturday we went to 50th Street Caboose for my birthday. While we were there our waiter and other waitresses Ohhhhed and Ahhhhed about Maggie and then asked if they could take a pic of her for their web page. I took some of my own...

This morning I had walked out of the room and when I came back in it looked like Maggie was reading to her baby. By the time I got my camera she had dropped one side of the book and looked like this:
She is so cute! She will pick up a book and start "reading" it. She will just talk and talk. I have a book lover already.

Maggie wore some PJs that Grandma and Grandpa gave her and the other pair she is showing off.

Pumpkin Trail

We went to the Trail Oct. 23rd, but it's taken a while to get everything posted...

Here is the outfit that Maggie wore the day we went to the pumpkin trail, except we changed to pants that night.

When we got out of the car when we arrived at the trail Jael turned around and saw her Aunt Maria, Uncle Oscar and cousin Melissa 2 cars away from us. So we walked through with them. It was a fun night.

Melissa, Jael, Emalea, Maggie, Angie and that's Sandy's hand floating behind Angie, trying to get everyone to look at me.

A shot of part of the trail.

The girls with owls Jack-O-Lanterns. My nanny loved owls and had them all over her house. Angie has an owl from Nanny and now Emalea loves owls.

Just the owls

Trunk or Treat

Last night was our Trunk or Treat at church. I got off work at 5 so we could get ready for it. Maggie was Princess Leia, I was a Jedi and we had Yoda in the back of our car handing out candy with Mike.

Angie was an M&M bag (I didn't get a pic of her... How do I always miss picture ops with Angie?!?) Emalea was Mulan and Jael was Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean 3

Then this morning at 5 Maggie and I took Sandy to the airport. She is now on her way to South Africa to "pick up" mom and dad from their mission. Maggie woke up while I was getting dressed so I decided she might as well come with us.

3rd tooth

Maggie just cut her 3rd tooth. We have been expecting it for a while now. It's her upper right tooth!
I had just checked her teeth before I laid her down and saw that it was really white in the same spot where her tooth is now, but nothing coming through. I laid her down bec. she was acting tired. She was quiet for a while, but then started crying. When I went to get her I checked again and there it was. Now it's really dangerous to put your finger in her mouth. She didn't bite me this time.

On a side note Maggie has started pinching. I think she likes the way it feels. With her little fingers it kind of stings. Little stinker.

come on let's get happy

I have had some friends who have posted lists of things that make them happy. So I decided to do the same.

The first thing that pops into my head for what makes me happy is this face...
her laugh, the way she touches my face in the early morning hours while she is having her first bottle of the day. I could go on forever about Maggie, but on to other things.

Music lifts my soul. Right now in my car CD player I have the CD for our Primary Presentation.

Family- Mike and Maggie are amazing. I'm really looking forward to seeing my parents in 21 days! I have amazing sisters and their families. I've also been blessed with wonderful in-laws. I love how I can talk with Mike's parents just as easily as I can talk to Mom and Dad. His siblings and their families are also amazing. I just can't say enough about family or cover everyone Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews... I've had so much love and support from everyone.

Friends- Again this is another one where I can't say enough or mention everyone. I have truly been blessed!

Jesus Christ and his Good Word! I can't imagine where I would be with out the Gospel in my life.

I Love the Fall! Great colors, great smells, great food and more Holidays to spend with family.

Watching sunsets. I love the colors and so wish I could paint to capture the awe I feel. (Which is probably why I take so many pictures. hee hee)

Getting in bed with freshly washed sheets with just shaved legs. Ahhhhhhh

Skype - how amazing is it that I can talk to and SEE my parents in South Africa!!!

My work outside my home. I love being an interpreter. I have great co-workers, many of whom belong in the category further up known as friends. Where else can someone work where you regularly hear people telling eachother "I love you" and they truly care about you and your family.
I have so many more things but I'll end it here.

New pics and Jesus

This was a week ago Sunday. She was so cute just playing with her baby.

The rest of the pics are backward... I didn't put them in the right order and it takes too long to re-load them and the re-arrange them.
The exersaucer is still one of her favorite places. She LOVES to jump. She gets so excited. When there is music she really gets going.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture. Such a sweet smile!

We went to Angie and Will's for dinner this last Sunday. When the girls came home from Dad's they were happy to see Maggie.
I had to rearrange these next 4 pics for the effect and to fit the story.

Emalea was sitting infront of Maggie and held out her arms and Maggie held out her arms just like Emalea. (This was the second time since I didn't have my camera at the ready position when it first happened so Maggie's arms weren't as high up this time)
Then leaned in for a hug. So cute.So Jael had to give it a try. Maggie did lift her arms some, but she just grabbed for Jael shirt mostly. Then in for a hug.

Maggie posing for Daddy. This was Sunday after church

Still posing

This one was before church

Maggie Loves rice. If you have rice on your plate you better be ready to share. :)

Saturday I got Maggie up from a nap and while walking through the hallway we stopped to look at the picture of Jesus. We regularly say Hi to Jesus and say his name several times when I get her up from her crib. Then as we were walking away into the livingroom she said what sounded like Jesus. I told her good girl, but wasn't sure if that was what she really said. Then Sunday morning we were looking at our picture of Christ in the living room and I said "Jesus" several times and then she did again. What a smart girl. She won't show off yet for Daddy or other people but some day she will. My little girl is growing up way too fast.

Starting Young

Today Raylene sent me a text message to tell me that Maggie spanked Jackson on his bootie. I said it was too bad we didn't have that on video. I then called her and she explained that Jackson was trying to get up in front of her and she started tapping him on his bootie. Then when he was starting to move away from her she grabbed his legs and was holding on while he tried to get away.
This kind of activity sounds very familiar... Thank goodness that stage is over for me, too bad it's just the beginning for her. Ahhhh such is life.

almost crawling

Maggie has been rolling and moving all over the floor lately. She normally moves backward and gets frustrated bec. she can't reach what she wants or gets stuck and can't go anywhere. Yesterday she backed herself up to the air matress pump and was playing with it with her feet. One time she kicked it just right and it turned on. Poor little girl was trying to crawl with all her might to get away from it. I turned it off and showed her what that noisy thing was. I guess that was incentive enough because all morning she was really moving around the floor trying to crawl. I had my cell phone about 2 feet away from her and she made her way to it. It was slow going but she got to the phone and was so excited. Maybe she hasn't had the right motivation to crawl forward... She does like technology.

Shadows

This morning Maggie woke up at 6:00 and Mike made a bottle for her then I sat in the living room feeding her. The only light on in the house was the one over our sink. When Maggie was done with her bottle she sat up and looked around and could see her shadow on the wall. She looked a little concerned. The "Maggie"(pointing at her) "Maggie"(pointing at an image of her) is a familiar game we play when she is looking in the mirror or pictures of herself. She loves it! So I figured it would work in this situation too. So I put my hand infront of her face where she could see my hand and the shadow it made. I told her "look it's mommy's shadow" then I pointed at her and said "Maggie" and then pointed at her shadow and said "Maggie's shadow" and continued doing so. She got excited and then needed to touch her shadow so she leaned in and rubbed the wall. I was so proud that my little girl discovered her shadow. I LOVE being a mom!!!

On the hay ride to the pumpkin patch

Emalea, Angie, Maggie, Jael, Will and Jackson. On the hay ride I read a story to the kids (and people behind us) a story called "The Littlest Pumpkin". It's a really cute story.

Maggie was really having a fun time. She just didn't want to show it in this pic.

Maggie and Angie at the corn.

Emalea picked the Little Pumpkin. She is too cute.

Ninja Maggie. Jackson had this, but didn't want to wear it so Maggie wore it for a while.

Aunt Sandy with Ninja Maggie.

I had so much fun. I LOVE the Cornfield Maize! At half way Maggie got hungry, Emalea was ready to stop and go with us. Jackson was scared so Will and I went to the tables they had set up and played with the kids there. Paula, Sandy, Angie and Jael did the last half of the Maize really fast. Sandy had a copy of the map and lead them (and 3 lost/tired girls) out in what I would call record time. What a blast!!!
